Our plantations mainly grow Kadarka, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. We also have Irsai Olivér in smaller quantities, and we have newly planted Kékfrankos. Our main profile is Szekszárdi Bikavér, which makes up half of the production, with a significant proportion of Cabernet. Our wines can basically be classified into two categories. For the “castle” series, we have chosen harmonious wines that reflect the traditions of Szekszárd and that gild everyday life. Bikavér and Bodorka, which are a fruity blend, reach the consumer in decorative packaging that is very popular with customers.

The premium category is represented by Obsessio, a Merlot selection, Passionata, a Cabernet Franc selection, and the full-bodied red Cuvée named Trezor. In addition, every year, wines appear that complement the selection and are available in limited bottles in our webshop. Some of our Kadarká, Kékfrankos, and Bikavér reach wine lovers in Szekszárd bottles. We are proud that our wines have performed outstandingly in numerous competitions in recent years.

The Szekszárd Wine Region is located on the eastern slopes of the Szekszárd Hills and on the slopes of the east-west valleys. The microclimatic conditions developed in the different locations are of particular importance.

Castle Hill

The uniqueness and interestingness of the Várdomb vineyard lies in the fact that it is a continuous Kadarka plantation. It requires special attention and treatment to get to know the plantation, to map the potential of the variety and the values ​​inherent in it. We manage it to the best of our knowledge and professional humility, so that we can show the most beautiful wines from this valuable vineyard. Another interesting feature of the Várdomb vineyard is the continuous new Kékfrankos plantation, as well as the additional experimental plantings, among which we can also find the Primitivo, Petit Verdot, and Syrah varieties.

Strážshegy

The Strázsahegy vineyard grows on 12 hectares. The vineyard is the noblest and best-equipped red wine vineyard in Szekszárd, a statement supported by the experience of the past years and the wines in the cellar. We harvest the raw materials for most of our full-bodied wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Kékfrankos from here. The specialty of our Strázsahegy vineyard is the experimental planting of the world-class Malbec.

Baranya Valley

The plantation was planted in 1996-1997, and its varietal structure is represented by Merlot. The vineyard is surrounded by a forest belt, making it a favorite spot for game. The plantation’s unparalleled harvest provides the backbone for our multiple internationally awarded pure Merlot wines, and plays a decisive role in our fruity, ruby-red dry cuvee wines.

Szent Gaál | Kastély

Our castle is located on the Szentgál vineyard hill on the gentle hills of Tolna county, on the outskirts of the Zomba settlement. According to surviving writings, its exact name was Zomba-Szentgál-Dőry-Pejacsevich-Komlósi kúria. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate came to the Dőry family, the head of the family, Gábor Dőry, was awarded the title of lord of Tolna county, and the manor house became the estate center of the most important landowner in the county. The castle acquired its clean classicist form at this time. However, with the death of Gábor Dőry in 1871, its heyday ended. During the time of Gábor Dőry’s descendants, the estate reached an area of ​​3,434 cadastral acres, but over time the family fell apart. Having been affected by World War I and the subsequent Trianon Dictate, they dispersed and sold the estate. In 1935, the Komlósi family became the owners, and the decline of the castle did not stop there. After World War II, the estate was finally nationalized and the lands were distributed among the small landowners. During the communist era, it was acquired by the Zomba Agricultural Society, which used the building as a grain storage and warehouse. The valuable furniture was carried away, the walls were destroyed, part of the ceiling collapsed, and the roof was soaked. In the early 1990s, the castle became a new owner, when the building, which had seen better days, underwent a significant renovation. The castle currently has 6 rooms, all of which meet today’s needs, while the antique furniture will transport those wishing to relax in a peaceful, quiet environment back to the romance of the last century.
