Rákóczi Cellar - Tokaj-Hétszőlő Organic Vineyards Visit Tokaj

WineryRákóczi CellarWine TastingWine SalesThe History

The Rákóczi Cellar is a true sanctuary of Tokaj wines, one of those rare places where dream and reality mix in the visitor’s imagination.

The cellar, built at the beginning of the 15th century, has been claimed as its own by kings, princes, dukes, and generals over the centuries.

The impressive Knight’s Hall (28 m long, 10 m wide, 5 m high) is the largest underground room in the wine region, and it was here that the orders elected János Szapolyai as Hungarian king in 1526.

Today, it serves as a venue for wine presentations for wine lovers and professionals, and the wine order of the wine region also holds its ceremonies here.

In its endless cellar branches, there is a wine museum housing the best wines of the Tokaj-Hétszőlő Organic Vineyard, which, by storing 500-1000 bottles per vintage, allows for the maturation of up to a hundred vintages under ideal conditions.

Rákóczi Pince, nestled in the charming village of Tokaj, Hungary, is a celebrated wine cellar that embodies the rich heritage of Tokaj wines. As you step into this enchanting venue, you’re greeted by the warm ambiance of oak barrels and the sweet aroma of fermenting grapes.

The cellar boasts a wide selection of exquisite wines, particularly the iconic Tokaji Aszú, famous for its unique sweetness and complexity. Guided tours offer insights into the winemaking process, from grape harvesting to fermentation, allowing you to appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship behind each bottle. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings, paired with local delicacies, and explore the beautiful surroundings of Tokaj, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cellar’s knowledgeable staff is eager to share their passion for wine, making it an ideal destination for both seasoned connoisseurs and curious newcomers.
