The picturesque village of Hercegkút, a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts an iconic wine cellar row in Tokaj-Hegyalja.
The Kőporosi cellar row, featuring 87 triangular-gabled cellars, is a notable part of this heritage, dating back to the 18th century.
These cellars, built by German settlers, stretch deep into the ground with branching passages, perfect for wine storage. The village has a rich history, having been renamed Hercegkút in 1904 in honor of Prince Trautson, who brought the settlers to the area.
