Erzsébet Pince Erzsébet Pince is a family-run estate founded in 1992, reviving the family’s winemaking legacy in Tokaj. They craft 10-12,000 bottles/year from vineyards in Mád, Bodrogkeresztúr, and Tarcal, focusing on quality over quantity. Their vineyards include Király, Betsek, and Veresek. The historic cellar, dating back to the 1700s, was once used by the Russian Imperial Court.

Miklós Prácser Jr. has been steering Erzsébet Pince’s winemaking since 2008, bringing a fresh perspective to the family-run winery. With a degree from the University of Western Hungary and international experience in the USA, Argentina, and the Netherlands, Miklós is dedicated to crafting top-quality wines. His sister, Hajni, who’s also involved in the winery, shares the family’s passion for producing exceptional Tokaj wines. Together, they’re keeping the tradition alive, focusing on both dry and sweet wines, including their renowned Aszús. The family’s commitment to quality shines through in every bottle.

VT Borfőnök Reviews – 2025

Wine Tasting Experience:

  • Aszú 2017 6 puttonyos: VT Gold Medal with a score of 95/100, this 2017 Aszú crafted from 100% Furmint grapes, this Aszú is a testament to Tokaj’s winemaking tradition. The nose is filled with intense aromas of dried fruits (apricot, plum), honey, and subtle spices, thanks to the vineyard’s unique terroir. On the palate, it’s rich and full-bodied, with flavors of baked apple, caramelized orange, and a hint of tea-like bitterness. The sweetness is balanced by a crisp acidity. The finish is long and opulent, with lingering notes of honey, dried fruits, and a touch of spice. This Aszú is perfect for special occasions or as a luxurious treat. Its complexity and balance make it a standout in Tokaj’s wine scene.
  • Tokaji Szamorodni 2017: VT Gold Medal with a score of 91/100, this 2017 Sweet (Édes) Szamorodni is truly a delightful Hungarian treat! Made from 100% Furmint grapes, this sweet Szamorodni is a classic Tokaj style, perfect for those who love rich, botrytized wines.  The nose is filled with delightful aromas of dried apricot, honey, and a hint of citrus, thanks to the volcanic rhyolite bedrock and clay loam soil of the Király vineyard. On the palate, you’ll experience a beautiful balance of sweetness and acidity, with flavors of apple, pear, and a touch of spice. The wine’s medium body and smooth texture make it incredibly enjoyable. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering notes of honey and apricot. Erzsébet Pince’s Tokaji Sweet Szamorodni is a must-try for wine enthusiasts.
