Erzsébet Pince A family-run artisan estate was founded in 1992, when our family purchased the 18th-century Russian wine merchant’s cellar in the city center of Tokaj, in order to return to the craft of our ancestors on the maternal side, the “winemaking” of Tokaj. We currently produce 10-12,000 bottles per year, depending on the vintage, from vineyard-selected dry wines to aszú wines. Our areas are located on the border of Mád, Bodrogkeresztúr, and Tarcal, on a total of 10 productive hectares. In historically prominent vineyards such as Király, Betsek, Sajgó, Zafír, Veresek, we work with careful viticulture and strict yield restrictions. In the spring of 2016, we planted 3 hectares in Verese in Mád.Our central cellar is located in the city center of Tokaj, and its history dates back to the 1700s. The Russian Wine Purchasing Committee used the cellar in the 18th century for fermentation and storage to supply Empress Elizabeth and the Russian Imperial Court with Tokaj wine.

The winemaker of Erzsébet Pince has been Miklós Prácser Jr. since 2008. He completed his studies at the University of Western Hungary in Mosonmagyaróvár. He has visited several countries to gain professional experience (USA, Argentina, Netherlands). As a young, qualified winemaker, he has an innovative approach to winemaking, and his main goal is the same as the family’s ambition: to produce the highest quality wines, with special attention to the vineyards and the dry wines made from them, as well as the great sweet wines, aszús.
